Update 2nd December 2011

Hello Everyone,

No planning application has been submitted yet by npower to Huntingdon District Council for the proposed Wind Farm at Molesworth.

There is an important petition which seems to be gaining momentum and for Action Groups to have any impact we need everyone possible to sign this petition and pass the information on to friends and family. It has a long deadline so plenty of time to obtain large numbers of signatures. Please sign the petition REDUCE ELECTRICITY BILLS BY REFORMING THE SUBSIDIES FOR WIND FARMS on the HM Government Petition website ""By reducing or ending the subsidies for wind-farms, we would benefit the poorest members of society, boost our manufacturing exports and, while doing so, would help protect what remains of our precious countryside.""

Another area of interest is the BBC ""That's Britain"" programme. Those of you who watched it last Wednesday on BBC 1 at 7.30pm would have seen wind turbines featuring on the Talk to the Wall feature. The aim is to raise general awareness of this issue by pushing ""Wind Turbines"" to the top spot by getting as many people as possible to email the programme expressing why ""Wind Turbines"" are of concern to them. Please email the programme on making sure you use WIND TURBINES as your subject heading. There are many areas you can discuss such as the large subsidies, unreliability of supply, fuel levies on our electricity bills to fund them, high cost of wind power helping to increase fuel poverty, destruction of the countryside.. The list goes on and on. Again if you can encourage all members of your household, friends and relatives to email we might be able to get this issue discussed on a popular prime time television programme. It is definitely worth spending a few minutes to try to achieve this.
