January Update
(2 Feb 2011)
Just to let you know a planning application has NOT been received by HDC from npower yet. However all the sound and wind speed measuring devices have been removed from people’s gardens and the field at the top of Warren Lane.

The Action Group attended the Bicton (Kimbolton) Determination at HDC and was delighted that the District Council unanimously voted against the proposal. Unfortunately the energy company has stated it will go to appeal, so their fight goes on.

Some of us, along with other wind farm action groups, also attended a meeting with Councillor Bates, Leader of Huntingdon District Council, to discuss current HDC Planning Policy concerning renewable energy. It would appear they are not going to make any amendments to their policy until the Government pass the new Localism Bill which will probably be next year. Currently siting of these wind farms would appear to depend on the closeness to the A14 and willing landowners as not many applications are being received for other parts of the Huntingdon District.

If anyone has expertise on heritage, landscape, ecology & wildlife, noise, health issues relating to noise etc, or would like to help in any way please let me know.

Obviously we will email everyone as soon as the planning application is registered with HDC and will be distributing information packs to surrounding villages.
