UPDATE 27th JULY 2012 – Number Four POST PLANNING APPLICATION

Hello Everyone,

Molesworth Wind Farm Planning Application Ref 1200967FUL

Three Parish Councils have met so far and voted to oppose the planning application. They are Bythorn & Keyston, Titchmarsh and the Lilford cum Wigsthorpe & Thorpe Achurch Parish Council. We had a productive meeting with our MP Shailesh Vara who has promised his full support and confirmation from Louise Mensch MP that she opposes the application and will write to object.

**** PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE REMEMBER all objection letters must be with Huntingdon District Planning Department by FRIDAY 10TH AUGUST. IT IS ONLY TWO WEEKS AWAY!!!! It is important that as many members of your household write INDIVIDUAL letters to both Huntingdon District Council Planning Department, their MP, District Councillor and Parish Council. They need to know local people do not want this wind farm. All the addresses are on our website www.stopmolesworthwindfarm.org.uk under the Contact heading. If you have time do write to English Heritage, RSPB. CPRE, Natural England and the British Horse Society all details on the website.

WRITE NOW, WRITE TODAY, DON’T LEAVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE!!

**** SUNDAY 29 JULY - 3.00pm - PROTEST WALK UP WARREN LANE, BYTHORN (through the proposed wind farm site) STARTING FROM BYTHORN CHURCH. Families, Dog Walkers, Ramblers, Horse Riders, Bike Riders please support us. Demonstrate the strength of your opposition to this proposal and oppose the urbanisation of our landscape.

PLEASE SUPPORT THIS EVENT!!

**** W/C 15 OCTOBER - TARGET DETERMINATION DATE at Huntingdon District Council (this date may be put back). Further details to follow but we would hope once the date is decided to have a large attendance at this meeting

**** Thank you to everyone who returned their pink survey forms. If you still wish to take part in the survey please put your form through one of the letterbox s in your village (details are in your Objection Pack). Preliminary results show OVER 90% of local residents (in all the surveyed villages) who responded to the survey oppose this planning application. Those of you who wanted placards, posters or discuss issues with the Action Group Committee should be contacted in the next few days.

**** If you would like to assist us financially with our campaign, we have set up a bank account, please make your cheque payable to “Stop Molesworth AG”, and send it Stop Molesworth AG, Scotts Farmhouse, Bythorn, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, PE28 0QP, please include your address in the envelope as we would like to issue receipts for all money donated. The money will be used to fund posters, leaflets, obtaining advice from experts, photo montages and putting together a rebuttal document with detailed reasons for objecting to the planning application to be presented to Huntingdon District Council. A big thank you to those who have already donated!! Details of how to donate and how surplus funds will be dealt with can be found under the Supporters tab on the Action Group Web Site.

**** Finally, a big thank you to everyone who has helped in any way so far. We had an amazing selection of cakes at our event in Molesworth last Saturday and we hope we managed to answer any questions which were raised. The committee all have their heads down writing the rebuttal document against the planning application – thank goodness for email.

UPDATE 19th JULY 2012 - Number Three POST PLANNING
(21 Jul 2012)
Molesworth Wind Farm Planning Application Ref 1200967FUL

Apologies for this rather lengthy letter. The Public Meeting last week was well attended. We have given short presentations to several Parish Councils with more to follow. Meetings have been arranged with the HDC Planning Officer, the MP Shailesh Vara and we are busy preparing the rebuttal document on this application.

* All objection letters must be with Huntingdon District Planning Department by FRIDAY 10TH AUGUST.

*If you wish to know more about the planning application or need help with your objection letter please attend the INFORMATION SURGERY AFTERNOON in Molesworth Village Hall on SATURDAY 21 JULY - 2.00pm-4.30pm. There will be displays, photo montages and Committee Members will be available to discuss the plans.

Having written individual letters to Huntingdon District Council Planning Department, Your MP, District Councillor and Parish Council, you might wish to write to the organisations listed below requesting them to place an objection to the planning application. They need to know people oppose this application and expect them to do something about it.

1. English Heritage - Mr. David, Grech, English Heritage, 24 Brooklands Avenue, Cambridge, CB2 8BU. Don't forget to mention your local church and any other listed public buildings or monuments and conservation areas. Most of our churches are Grade II* listed and the one at Keyston is grade I listed. See Objection Point 3 - Impact on the Environment on the website for more details.

2. CPRE - Michael Monk, CPRE, The Town Hall, Market Hill, St Ives, Cambs PE27 5AL stating your concern for the local area, impact on the landscape, conservation areas, views from rural villages, footpaths, bridleways etc becoming industrial instead of rural.

3. RSPB - UK Headquarters of RSPB, The Lodge, Sandy, Bedfordshire SG19 2DL. Mention the Red Kite breeding program set up in Northamptonshire less than 2 kilometres from the site. The presence of other birds on the schedule one list in the area such as, peregrines, hobbies, golden plovers, cuckoos and lapwings. Also the site is between Grafham Water and gravel pits at Thrapston which is frequently traversed by wildfowl and gulls. Ask them to help protect birds in this area.

4. British Horse Society - Ms Janet Pamment, East of England, c/o Abbey Park, Stareton, Kenilworth, Warwickshire CV8 2XZ. Mention concerns of well used bridleways and green lanes being surrounded. Distances of turbines from these are the absolute minimum of 200metres and don't follow BHS guidelines of 4 times the height of the turbines which would be over 500m. The fact these areas are in a high area of shadow flicker of 50+ hours a year (the highest category in the energy companies table on this subject) and the affect this will have on horses.

5. Under the contacts heading on the website there are other organisations listed which you might wish to write to and also your MEPs. PLEASE MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD
