UPDATE 17th AUGUST 2012 – Number Seven POST PLANNING APPLICATION

Hello Everyone,

Molesworth Wind Farm Planning Application Ref 1200967FUL

HDC WILL STILL ACCEPT LETTERS IF YOU HAVE NOT WRITTEN YET

***It is important that as many members of your household write INDIVIDUAL letters to both Huntingdon District Council Planning Department, PARTICULARLY as RWE npower has submitted OVER 150 LETTERS in support as a result of asking members of the public at Huntingdon High Street to fill in forms and letters of support. The District Council need to know local people do not want this wind farm, so if members of your household haven’t written or your neighbours (who may not be on our supporters list and therefore not receive this email), please ask them to do so. All the addresses are on our website www.stopmolesworthwindfarm.org.uk under the Contact heading.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE WRITTEN ALREADY, YOUR SUPPORT HAS BEEN FANTASTIC.

***English Heritage and CPRE have both written to HDC and objected to this planning application. The RSPB has also written and requested two of the turbines (numbers 1 and 3) are removed from the planning application as “The proximity of turbines 1 and 3 to the Red Kite roost and the concentration of flight line activity in this area suggests removing these turbines could significantly reduce the risk of collisions taking place.” Our MP Shailesh Vara has also written to object to this proposal.

***The majority of Parish Councils have objected to this planning application. They include Bythorn & Keyston, Molesworth & Brington, Catworth, Old Weston, Titchmarsh, Clopton, Winwick, Lilford cum Wigsthorpe & Thorpe Achurch. Unfortunately Leighton Bromswold Parish Council has decided to support this application due to “no objections recorded”. The East Northants District Council Planning Officer has recommended the application be refused but it is still to be ratified by the Development Panel but this vote should take place in the next fortnight.

***On Friday 10th August the Action Group Committee handed in a 161 page rebuttal document with an annex of photo montages. One of our members has commissioned an assessment on the noise impact of the wind farm planning application. As a group we have also asked Architech Animation Studios to do an assessment of the presented photographic images from RWE npower and expect this report in the next week. HDC have agreed to this documentation being submitted late and we believe it will show a gross under representation of the visual impact these turbines will have on our rural communities.

*** MONDAY 15 OCTOBER - TARGET DETERMINATION DATE at Huntingdon District Council (this date may be put back). Further details to follow but we would hope once the date is decided to have a large attendance at this meeting

*** If you would like to assist us financially with our campaign, we have set up a bank account, please make your cheque payable to “Stop Molesworth AG”, and send it Stop Molesworth AG, Scotts Farmhouse, Bythorn, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, PE28 0QP, please include your address in the envelope as we would like to issue receipts for all money donated. The money will be used to fund posters, leaflets, obtaining advice from experts, photo montages and putting together a rebuttal document with detailed reasons for objecting to the planning application to be presented to Huntingdon District Council. A big thank you to those who have already donated!! Details of how to donate and how surplus funds will be dealt with can be found under the Supporters tab on the Action Group Web Site.

***Finally I would like to give a big thank you to everyone who helped write and put together the rebuttal document and also to everyone who has written letters of objection to Huntingdon District Council.

If you have any queries suggestions, comments, require further information or can help in any way please let me know.

If you have received this email and do not wish to continue to be on the mailing list please contact us and we will ensure your name and details are removed.

Thank you for your continued support,

Vicky Wood
