Hi Everyone, 29th September 2013

AGM and PLANNING INQUIRY

1. AGM - TUESDAY 22nd OCTOBER 7.30pm at BYTHORN VILLAGE HALL - everyone is welcome to attend. Topics to be covered - Fund Raising Progress, Expert Witnesses, Public Inquiry - Speaking At and Attendance by Action Group Supporters.

2. PUBLIC INQUIRY STARTS ON TUESDAY 10 DECEMBER AT 10am at the Civic Suite at HDC, Pathfinder House, Huntingdon. There will be morning (at 9.30am) and afternoon sessions (at 2.00pm approx) every day and including Friday 13th December at this venue. The Inquiry will reconvene at the Countryside Centre at Hinchingbrooke Country Park on Tuesday 17 December at 9.30am with sessions most days until Friday 20 December. There is one further day expected of the Inquiry date to be decided. Currently there is to be an EVENING PUBLIC SESSION ON WEDNESDAY 18 DECEMBER AT THE HINCHINGBROOKE COUNTRYSIDE CENTRE - time still to be confirmed.

Please note if you are unable to attend the evening session the Inspector will allow you to speak at some other point during the Inquiry. More details to follow.

3. THANK YOU to everyone who had a pitch, helped with teas, provided cakes etc and attended the Garage Sale. The weather was glorious and many of us had a good clearout. Around 600.00 was raised with donations still coming in.

Thank you also to those who attended the pre-inquiry meeting last Monday.

4. It has been a busy week with a briefing to the Committee from our Planning Advisor Bob Barfoot and Barrister David Cocks who attended the pre-inquiry meeting and also visited the site. Our expert witness (on Landscape, Heritage and Residential Amenity) Michelle Bolger carried out a lengthy site visit on Thursday. We have also decided proceed with funding an Ecology expert Dr Tim Reed.

5. *****TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE FOR THE RACE NIGHT (TO INCLUDE AUCTION OF PROMISES) ON SATURDAY 9 NOVEMBER AT BYTHORN VILLAGE HALL

Doors open 7.30pm first race at 8.00pm.

Tickets are 12.50 per person and this includes a welcome drink of fizz, nibbles at the table, freshly cooked pizza courtesy of Sarah and John of artisan pizzas, and pudding. Why not come as a group and enjoy a great evening out. The auction of promises will be around 8 lots at the Race Night of very select items. Details of the promises to follow. If you would like to sponsor a race or own a horse (prize for winning owner) please let us know.

6. DONATIONS - We are still SHORT of funds. GARAGE SALE, HEIGHT OF TURBINES AND PLACARDS & POSTERS

1. ***GARAGE SALE - SUNDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER - 11AM to 3PM BYTHORN, MOLESWORTH & BRINGTON -

FREE MAPS of participating properties available on the day from BYTHORN VILLAGE HALL where refreshments will also be served.

2. PLACARDS & POSTERS - If you DO NOT ALREADY HAVE A PLACARD UP AND WOULD LIKE ONE please email or ring me.

3. PRE-INQUIRY MEETING - MONDAY 23 SEPTEMBER 2013 at 2.00pm to be held at the Civic Suite, Huntingdon District Council, Pathfinder House, Huntingdon. The public are welcome to attend this meeting. Please come - it is not necessary to attend the whole session you can come and go as you please.

*** INQUIRY BEGINS ON TUESDAY 10 DECEMBER 2013 - The inquiry is scheduled to last 8 days, beginning on Tuesday 10 December and going on until Friday 20 December with no sitting on Monday 16 December. Further details will be given nearer the time.

4. HEIGHT OF WIND TURBINES IN THE AREA - many of you will have seen the turbines currently being put up at Chelveston. To give you an idea of sizes of turbines in the area - there will be nine 125 metre high turbines at Chelveston, the turbine which has recently been erected between Old Weston and Leighton Bromswold is 34.2 metres tall (there is also a smaller 20 metre high turbine in Leighton). The turbine at Catworth Lodge, Tilbrook is 46 metres high and the one at Tilbrook Grange, Tilbrook is 25 metres. In addition planning has been granted for four 130.5 metre high turbines at Woolley Hill, Ellington and we expect them to start building later this year. (All turbine heights are to the blade tip). Those proposed for Molesworth Wind Farm are six wind turbines each 126 metres high.
