Grounds for Objection - Contrary to HDC Planning Policy
In 2012 the Woolley Hill Wind Farm near Ellington for four 130.5m high turbines was approved by the planning inspector on appeal in March 2012 after Huntingdon District Council had turned down original planning application in June 2011.
The Woolley Hill Wind Farm will be located in the area designated by HDC as the Northern Wolds
The section on the Northern Wolds states under Cumulative Development section 8.4 on page 33 "There is very little scope for the Northern Wolds to accommodate more than one small-scale group. This is a landscape highly valued in the district for its "unspoilt" quality and harmonious character, turbine development should not affect this special character."
This document also states that the location of a small scale group of turbines should "respect the site and setting of historic villages which characterise the Northern Wolds".8.3d on page 33 of SPD - Wind Power. This planning application clearly will not do this and is against the policy of just one small scale group.
Not only is this application for an excessive number of turbines (3 more than the maximum HDC policy dictates for this area) but it places an additional wind farm in an area where a small-scale group has already been approved.
